Lime Stone
Limestone is a sedimentary rock mainly composed of calcium carbonate. It is composed mostly of the minerals calcite and aragonite, which are different crystal forms of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Dolomite, CaMg(CO3)2, is an uncommon mineral in limestone, and siderite or other carbonate minerals are rare.
Limestone has a uniform color and texture. It comes in a variety of earthy, rustic tones, like browns, creams and greys. Made-up of shell’s calcite and other debris, it is a porous soft stone that has high-range durability.
